The Ontario government plans to mail a $200 rebate cheque to every taxpayer in the province to help residents cope with the high cost of living.
This initiative is set to reach about 15 million people in early 2025. Eligible families will also get an extra $200 per child.
Premier Doug Ford and Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy say this relief is essential, but opposition leaders have criticized the move as a pre-election “gimmick.”
