On 22 November 2023, PayProp once again honoured top residential rental professionals from across South Africa, at the third annual PayProp Awards, hosted online.
“Today we recognise all outstanding agencies on our platform, regardless of size, location or length of time with PayProp. Certificates will be hand-delivered to the winners to proudly display at their offices,” said PayProp SA CEO Michelle Dickens.
“The PayProp Awards are about the property practitioners who have over the past year shown what can be done with the right processes, platforms and permissions to professionalise and raise standards in the industry. Powered by PayProp, these pros have grown their books without adding overheads, delighted their clients with speed, accuracy and transparency of rental payments, attracted new business, and raised their business’s profile," she added.
PayProp Masters Awards – PayProp’s longest-standing clients
As always, the prize-giving opened with the PayProp Masters Awards, which recognise those clients who have been with PayProp for 15 years. This year, 15 new entrants joined this prestigious club, the biggest group of any PayProp Awards so far – reflecting PayProp’s speedy growth from the outset.
The agencies inducted as PayProp Masters this year included Louw and Coetzee Properties, Leapfrog Melkbos and Blouberg, Shibbolet Estates, Rawson Properties Blaauwberg, Seeff Durbanville, Property Decoded, Rose Eedes in the City, Bregan Properties, Seeff Strand, Seeff Properties Hermanus, Just Property Richards Bay, EF Entrepreneur Property Group, Century 21 Potchefstroom - Student Hub (previously known as Pukki Verblyf), Just Property Blouberg and Paul Matthews Real Estate.
PayProp Performance Awards – Recognising exceptional growth
Next up were the PayProp Performance Awards for exceptional growth in the amount of rent processed and number of tenancies on PayProp. “PayProp is all about freeing agents from time-consuming admin so they can grow their businesses, and these agencies have made great use of those extra hours,” Dickens added.
This award is split into two categories: one for growth over the past year, and one for growth over three years. Our winner over three years was Seeff Independent Agency. Meanwhile, Property Connect scooped the one-year category with an explosive performance.
PayProp Processing Awards – The biggest books
In the PayProp Processing Awards, which celebrate exceptional processing volume over the past year, last year’s winners in the independent category returned to the podium in 2023. The Letting Corporation took third place, Louw and Coetzee Properties came in second, while this year’s returning winners were SA Investor Rentals.
There were also some familiar names in the franchised category of this award. Previous winners Engel & Völkers Potchefstroom came in third this year, Dormehl Phalane took second place, while our winner for 2023 was Century 21 Potchefstroom – Student Hub, one of our longest-standing clients!
PayProp Power User Awards – Getting the most from PayProp
Besides straight-through automated payment processing, PayProp comes with a range of additional features for rental agents, and the PayProp Power User Awards recognise the agencies making the best use of them. Property Affair earned an award for making great use of PayProp’s damage deposit functionality. Fine & Country Franschhoek took home the title for best use of the property account, and Century 21 Sandton were recognised for their excellent use of the Tenant Assessment Report feature to vet applicants.
2023’s top agencies
In our final category before the overall winner, the PayProp Velocity Award went to a client that grew strongly and made great use of the PayProp ecosystem: Bloemfontein agency Batts Properties.
Last on our agenda was the most prestigious prize of the day: the PayProp Pinnacle Award. This award goes to the agency that has performed exceptionally across all categories: growth, processing volume, PayProp ecosystem usage, and tenure. Seeff Strand and The Real Estate Company Cape Town both received special mention as runners-up, but there could only be one winner: Property DeCoded – by the Stephensons.
“Congratulations to our winners, and each of the runners-up too. Your efforts shine a light for others in the industry, showing what can be done by making the right business decisions – please be proud of your achievements,” said Dickens.
We thank you for your continued support and our best wishes accompany you into the future.”
